How to verify imported documents in Weave

This article shows you how to check an imported dossier document against source files in your Data Room. Use it to review content drafted outside Weave, select the evidence for your review, and work through the verification results.

Note: Finish importing your document and uploading its supporting source files before you begin. Only fully processed Data Room files are available for selection. If you still need to import your document, see How to import an existing document into your dossier.

Choose the sources for your review

1. Open the imported document

Open your imported dossier document in the Editor. Check that you are reviewing the intended document and version.

2. Select Verifying mode

Open the Editing dropdown in the top-right corner and choose Verifying. For an imported document, the verification modal includes an option to select other Data Room sources.

3. Add a reviewer

Assign yourself for a self-review pass, or add the colleague who will review the document.

4. Select your Data Room sources

Choose the individual files or folders you want Weave to use as evidence. Check that your selection contains the source material needed to assess the document.

Note: A file that has not finished processing cannot be selected. Wait for processing to finish, then return to the picker. Verification results depend on the sources you select for this run.

5. Begin the review

Click Begin review to start verification. Wait for the run to finish before working through the results.

Once the run finishes, review the AI's results and decide which statements need a closer look.

6. Inspect a statement or table cell

Select a statement or table cell to see its verification result and Weave AI's reasoning. Compare the result with the supporting sources before making your decision.

Weave marks content as verified or flagged. A flag means you should review the content; it does not automatically mean the statement is wrong.

7. Verify or flag the content

Choose Verify statement when your review confirms that the content is accurate. Choose Flag statement when you identify an issue that needs attention.

Tip: Use the AI reasoning to focus your review, not as a substitute for your judgment. Check the source evidence when a result is unclear.

8. Add a table-cell comment

As an assigned reviewer, select a table cell in Verifying mode and add a comment for any detail you want the author or another reviewer to see.

Leaving a review note on a table cell.

Table-cell comments are supported in this workflow. After table edits, check that relevant comments still belong to the intended cells. Deleting or recreating a cell can remove its comments; editing content in a cell that still exists can retain them.

Once you have recorded the issues, switch back to Editing to make any needed corrections.

Correct the draft and review it again

9. Switch back to Editing

Use the mode dropdown to return to Editing, then make the corrections identified during review. You cannot edit document content directly while in Verifying mode.

10. Return to Verifying

Return to Verifying after editing and review the results against the latest content. Check any table-cell comments affected by the changes.

Repeat the review as needed. Before you finish, confirm that you have reviewed the flagged content and any content the AI could not evaluate.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why did Weave AI flag something I know is correct?

A: The AI may not be able to confirm the statement from the selected source evidence. Read its reasoning, compare the statement with your sources, and choose Verify statement if your review confirms it is accurate.

Q: Can I edit the document while I'm reviewing it?

A: Not in Verifying mode. Switch to Editing to make changes, then return to Verifying to review the updated content.

Q: Can I export the verification results?

A: There is no exportable verification report. Review results and comments stay in Weave.

For the broader review workflow, see How to verify your data with Weave AI. For imported documents, use the source-selection steps above, and note that table-cell comments are now supported.
